Český Krumlov in Black and White

I’ve been experimenting with the monochrome setting on my camera and Adobe Lightroom. Here’s a few photos from Český Krumlov, posted without captions because that’s not so much the point with these, I guess.

If anyone has a good tip for how to keep my Canon Eos camera from slightly overexposing black and white photos on sunny days, let me know…

  1. Try adjusting the exposure compensation setting. On Nikons, it’s the +/- button, not sure what it translates to on Canons.

  2. Set your f-stop higher, letting less light in. Try half a stop, or maybe even a whole stop, based on how your photos look. You can do this in the P mode, I believe. Not in A mode. Or using shutter priority, and set the shutter one level higher than recommended for the shot. The first method requires less thinking while you are shooting.
