Yet More Vienna Graffiti

I went walking by the Donaukanal again this morning, and once again, I got distracted by all the interesting graffiti.

You might wonder why in Vienna, with all its museums and masterpieces and stuff, I spend so much time looking at street art. I just like it, that’s all. In fact, I prefer it to a lot of the fine art I see in museums. I’m kind of art-ed out by now, I guess.

I’m tempted to get some spray paint one of these days and try a little graffiti myself. On an old canvas from the thrift store or something, of course. As a long-term tourist, I don’t feel entitled to decorate Vienna.

  1. I think this isn’t really graffiti. It is art that happens to be on a different canvas. Some of the best artists did some of their best work painting on walls (Michelangelo).
